אסף חזן הוא חוקר ומוזיקאי, בעל תואר ראשון ושני בפילוסופיה מאוניברסיטת תל אביב ודוקטורט בתוכנית ללימודי מדע, טכנולוגיה וחברה באוניברסיטת בר־אילן. מחקרו עוסק בממד הנפשי של טכנולוגיה, ובייחוד במעבר מטכנולוגיה אנלוגית לדיגיטלית, בתנועת הקיברנטיקה ובשורשי הבינה המלאכותית.
מחקר
נושא הדוקטורט שלי היה כנסי מייסי של תנועת הקיברנטיקה בסוף שנות ה-40 של המאה ה-20. הצעתי קריאה מנקודת מבט פסיכולוגית של סוגיות הליבה של הכנסים: המעבר לטכנולוגיה דיגיטלית בשילוב עם עקרונות היזון-חוזר (פידבק). בסיכומו של דבר הקריאה הציעה הגדרה מחודשת של המטאפיזיקה בבסיס מכונות הבינה המלאכותית של ימינו.
המחקר הנוכחי שלי עוסק בשאלת טיב היצירתיות האנושית ביחס למכונות בינה מלאכותית והיחס של שני הנושאים לסוגיות של זיכרון בכלל ושל חלומות בפרט. מתוך נושאים והקשרים אלה אני מנסה לתהות אודות טיבה של "רגולציה" ביחס לטכנולוגיה.
