Interdisciplinary Research Group on Translation

כרזה

The concept of 'translation' traditionally refers to the exchange of words and meanings between languages. However, the act of translation is connected to many aspects of life. This research group will explore translation not only as a linguistic mechanism but also as a tool for interaction between cultures, discourse patterns, and different symbolic systems. We invite researchers from diverse fields and disciplines to examine the various dimensions of the translation process.

The group meetings are held at Bar-Ilan University and via Zoom during the 5785 academic year, on Wednesdays from 14:00 to 16:00. The meetings include time for collaborative learning, presentation of participants' research materials, discussion of the research, and sessions with guest lecturers who will shed light on additional aspects of the concept of 'translation.'
