He is currently a research fellow at Bar-Ilan University and serves as a lecturer at the Hebrew University and Shenkar College (Engineering, Design and Art). His post-doctoral research focuses on fashion as an immersive experience in the digital world, which transcends the boundaries of the object, the body, and place.
Research
The doctoral dissertation views the fashion industry as an organizing axis of human society and the postmodern economy, focusing on the conditions created in the industry with the rise of social networks. Social and environmental perceptions, juxtaposed with the massive distribution of visual materials, have created far-reaching changes in the way fashion operates and exerts influence—ranging from the question of who dictates fashion, to what we consume, and to how fashion is branded and marketed. All of these fundamentally challenge concepts related to object ownership, identity, and authenticity.
